Joe Harpur: Supporting Your Healing Journey For Trauma  Anxiety or Depression

I am a dedicated therapist committed to providing a compassionate, person-centred space for healing. I support individuals navigating the complexities of trauma, bereavement, addiction, burnout and suicidality helping them rediscover their inner strength and expertise in their own lives.

My Story
My journey to become a therapist began after the loss of a loved one to suicide. While learning to live with that loss, I entered into personal therapy — and discovered a great deal about myself. I gained a deeper understanding of how I show up in relationships, how I deal with life's challenges, and an insight into my inner world. It also provided me with a greater understanding for people dealing with trauma, anxiety and depression. This became the catalyst that encouraged me to train as a therapist, and it is a decision I am grateful for to this day.

Before training as a therapist, I spent many years as a people, project and process manager across the construction, retail, and medical device sectors. That background shaped my belief in the practical alongside the emotional — I understand the pressures people carry, and I bring both warmth and groundedness to my work.

I am also a group facilitator, working across organisations including an addiction treatment centre and a cancer support centre — spaces where I have seen firsthand the power of shared human connection in supporting recovery and wellbeing.

An Integrative, Person-Centred Approach to Trauma, Anxiety or Depression
You are the expert of your life
In our work together, I hold a 'person-centred' philosophy, which means I believe you are the ultimate expert on your own experiences. My role isn't to tell you who you are, but to provide the safety, respect, and empathy needed for you to discover that for yourself. We work as collaborators, navigating your world together with curiosity and without judgment.
Integrative & Tailored Support
Because no two people are the same, my approach is 'integrative'—blending different therapeutic tools to suit your specific needs. Whether we are processing deep-seated trauma, managing daily anxiety, or navigating the fog of burnout, I tailor our sessions to your pace. We focus on the connection between us, building a foundation of trust that allows for genuine healing to occur.
